Save Money with Toll-Quality Voice, Fax, LAN and Multi-Protocol Communications over Cost-Effective Frame Relay Circuits.

Key Features:

  • Frame Relay access and switching
  • Digital voice, analog voice and fax support
  • SNA and legacy data support
  • SDLC and LLC2 spoofing and conversion
  • OSPF/IP/IPX routing and bridging
  • Data and voice compression

  • Cell-based prioritization

T1/E1 Digital and Analog Voice and Fax

The SDM-9400 offers extensive voice and fax integration options, including T1 and E1 digital voice, as well as a complete set of analog telephony interfaces. It supports a number of voice compression algorithms, as well as DTMF, MF, AC-15, and pulse dial signaling. Group III FAX is supported by all voice/fax modules, providing up to 30 voice/fax channels in a single SDM-9400.

SNA & Legacy Data With Compression

The SDM-9400 supports SNA emulation over Frame Relay for immediate savings versus costly leased lines. In addition, it handles legacy data traffic in multi-protocol environments. An integral data compression scheme optimizes network bandwidth.

Full Frame Relay Product Compatibility

The SDM-9400 interoperates across the Frame Relay network with other Frame Relay products including our full line of ACTnet products.

OSPF/IP/IPX Routing and Bridging

The SDM-9400 offers an Ethernet routing module to facilitate LAN connectivity using RFC-1490 over Frame Relay Networks.

Voice Switching and PVC Bundling

The SDM-9400 concentrates Frame Relay traffic originating from multiple FRADs onto a single Frame Relay connection, reducing the total number of required Frame Relay connections and PVCs. Returning traffic may also be switched through an alternate PVC, to another NetPerformer™ FRAD further reducing the number of PVCs. The result is lower access cost for the end-user.
